The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, along with his spouse, Ms. Maja Ivanova, today attended the 40th Galichnik wedding.

Together with several thousand guests in Galichnik, Ivanov attended the wedding ceremony of Aleksandra Krstevska and Vase Gjorgevski, in the spirit of the tradition of the Miak region.

"It is a great honor to be the patron of Galichnik wedding, an event which is an expression of the entire authenticity we have, that by renewing our tradition, custom recovery, passes the covenant of our ancestors, particularly through the folk dance "Teshoto", which tells us that we need to go through good and bad and to persevere, in order to feel what comes at the end – the freedom. To protect our state and cherish all the customs and traditions that unite us, bring us together and think of the future", President Ivanov said, the patron of the event.

The Macedonian President bestowed the newlyweds an icon with the image of Jesus Christ and wished them long life together, happiness and many children in the family.
