The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, received today the members of the Macedonian men bowling team, which won the silver medal at the 5th World Bowling Tournament, held from 15 to 25 May in the city Zalaegerszeg in Hungary.
President Ivanov, on his own behalf and on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, congratulated the great success to the bowlers, noting that winning the silver medal at the World Championship, the Macedonian bowlers presented Macedonia to the world remarkably.
"There is no greater joy than to see Macedonia's name at the top of the list, among the best", President Ivanov said, wishing the bowlers to win a gold medal at the next tournament.
At the meeting, the bowlers shared their experiences of participation in the competition, as well as the efforts invested to achieve this great success.
Macedonian representation, on the way to the final, scored five victories against Montenegro, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Serbia. In the grand finale, the Macedonian bowler team was beaten by the host selection Hungary with 7-1, while in the semifinals they beat the current world champion, the Republic of Serbia with 5-3. . Members of the Macedonian Bowler team that achieved this success are Damir Fuchkar, Bojan Vlakevski, Saso Trpkovski, Aleksandar Sokolovski, Boris Benedik, Urosh Shtoklas - members of the first team and three reserves Ibrahim Memedi, Kristijan Kostov and Martin Todorovski.
