The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, and the Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Mr. Avio Orav, today, in a traditional ceremony, exchanged the flags of the Republic of Macedonia and of the European Union, in the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, villa "Vodno". The ceremony of exchanging the flags is part of the mountaineering march, organized by the European Movement of the Republic of Macedonia and the EU Delegation in Skopje, as part of the activities marking Europe Day, May 9th.

The mountaineering march participants, led by Ambassador Orav, arrived in the Presidential Cabinet and were welcomed by President Ivanov who congratulated them the Europe Day. The President of the Republic of Macedonia said that the mountaineering march should symbolize the efforts to move forward in all segments of social life and state.

After the ceremonial exchange of flags of the Republic of Macedonia and of the European Union, the mountaineering march went on to the top of Vodno, where these two flags are traditionally raised.
