The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, will host the Meeting of the Leaders of the Brdo-Brijuni Process on 27 April 2018 in Skopje.
The main goal of the Brdo-Brijuni Process is full integration of the countries of the region into the European Union, stabilization of the situation in the Western Balkans through strengthening regional cooperation and solving open issues.
Participating countries in the Brdo-Brijuni Process are: the Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Kosovo, the Republic of Macedonia, the Republic of Slovenia, the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of Croatia and Montenegro, represented at the level of Heads of State.
At the Meeting of the Leaders of the countries participating in the Brdo-Brijuni Process, to be held in Skopje on 27 April 2018, participation of the President of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Ilir Meta, the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Bakir Izetbegovic, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaci, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, the President of the Republic of Croatia, Ms. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic and the President of Montenegro, Mr. Filip Vujanovic, is expected.
According to the established practice so far, besides the leaders of the participating countries, high-level dignitaries from the European Union, as well as leaders of EU member-states, participate in the meetings of the Brdo-Brijuni Process. One of the honorary guests at the meeting in Skopje is the President of the European Council, Mr. Donald Tusk.
The focus of this year's Meeting of the Leaders of the participating countries in the Brdo-Brijuni Process in Skopje is the need to improve the interconnection in political, economic, infrastructural and security terms, in the context of the new EU strategy for the Western Balkans.
Within the Brdo-Brijuni Process, for the first time upon the initiative of the Republic of Macedonia, a meeting of the Directors of the Intelligence Agencies of the participating countries will be held to discuss the security connectivity as a segment of the regional cooperation.
The Meeting of the Leaders of the participating countries in the Brdo-Brijuni Process in Skopje will be held on April 27, 2018 at the "Alexander Palace" Hotel.
